As noted in the foreword of this Special Issue, COVID-19 has accelerated Fourth Industrial Revolution’s or Industry 4.0’s disruption to labour market (Sally, 2021). Beyond 4.0 (I4.0), pandemic adoption digital technologies by enterprises, underscoring need for workers continuously upskill their competencies order remain relevant (Heinonen & Strandvik, Besides digitisation, organisations have had innovate and adopt new business models adapt ‘new normal’ surviving growing beyond In countries that largely relied on skilled migration as an important source talent, closure international borders restricted mobility human capital resulting insufficient employees meet current ever-increasing demand skills (Guadagno, 2020).

این پژوهش با هدف "بررسی وضعیت موجود آموزش عالی مجازی در ایران و راههای توسعه و ارتقای آن " و با روش توصیفی-تحلیلی و پیمایشی صورت پذیرفته است. بررسی اسنادو مدارک موجود در زمینه آموزش مجازی نشان داد تعداد دانشجویان و مقاطع تحصیلی و رشته محل های دوره های الکترونیکی چندان مطلوب نبوده و از نظر کیفی نیز وضعیت شاخص خدمات آموزشی اساتید و وضعیت شبکه اینترنت در محیط آموزش مجازی نامطلوب است.
